Simulation Workstation for SOLIDWORKS

Our testing has shown that Intel’s Xeon W processors perform extremely well in Flow and FEA simulations while still retaining good single-threaded performance for CAD/CAM tasks.

Overview

While most CAD/CAM tasks do not need a CPU with a large number of cores, certain types of simulations can benefit from higher core counts. In particular, we have found Intel’s latest Xeon W processors to perform extremely well in Flow and FEA simulations.

The additional cores also help with CPU-based rendering, as with PhotoView 360, though if that is your primary focus then an even higher core-count platform like AMD’s Threadripper will be faster yet.
