The Asus X99-M WS is a small form factor Micro ATX motherboard built for the enthusiast Core i7 Haswell-E processor line. Like all boards based on the X99 chipset from Intel, it supports DDR4 memory in a quad-channel configuration - so for full performance, all four memory slots need to be filled with matching modules.

For external connectivity it boasts eight USB ports across a mix of USB 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1 standards. Digital and analog audio are included too, and for networking dual Gb Ethernet ports plus 802.11ac WiFi. Internally there are eight SATA 6Gbps ports and one M.2 slot for drives, as well as USB headers for front panel ports / devices and a connector for an optional trusted platform module (TPM). Three PCI-Express 3.0 slots are present, two running at x16 speed and one at x8, plus a PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slot.
William George (Marketing Project Manager)
William George (Marketing Project Manager) Says:
If you want a ton of processing power in a small package, this micro ATX motherboard allows use of both Core i7 and Xeon E5 processors - and with DDR4 ECC registered memory, up to 64GB of RAM! All of this, with some limits on CPU wattage, can fit in systems as small as our Peak Mini.
Jeff Stubbers (Tier 3 Sales SME)
Jeff Stubbers (Tier 3 Sales SME) Says:
This is an excellent MicroATX motherboard. This means it is a bit smaller than standard ATX motherboards so it can fit in a smaller case. However, this also means that it has a few less PCI-E expansion slots. So if you would like the capability to add more expansion cards (Firewire card, USB, RAID controller, or additional video cards) in the future, you may want to consider a standard ATX motherboard instead. The Asus X99 Deluxe also has 8 RAM slots for extra RAM expansion in the future, vs. 4 RAM slots on this motherboard.
