The Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Gene is a compact, micro ATX motherboard for AMD's new AM5 socket and Ryzen 7000 Series processors. It offers very high-end, enthusiast-grade features in a small size - but that combination does end up requiring some compromises.
In terms of connectivity, this board is well equipped with a mix of ten USB ports (including two of the new USB 4.0 ports), 2.5Gbps LAN, WiFi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2, and surround sound audio outputs. Those USB 4.0 ports also provide video output from the AMD graphics built into the Ryzen 7000 processors.
Internally this motherboard is packed, with only two DDR5 memory slots supporting up to 64GB of RAM with current memory module sizes. For storage, there are four SATA III ports plus three M.2 slots - two of which are located on a riser card due to lack of space on the board. That lack of room also means just one PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot for a video card and a PCIe 4.0 x1 slot for another expansion card.
