The Asus ROG PG348Q is an extremely high-end monitor, featuring a massive 34-inch IPS panel with 3440x1440 resolution. That 21:9 aspect ratio is considered "ultra-wide", and the screen itself is curved so that there is less distortion at the edges when viewing it from a normal sitting distance. Asus color-calibrates this monitor at the factory for great out-of-the-box accuracy, and it covers 100% of the sRGB spectrum. Both horizontal and vertical viewing angles are great thanks to the IPS type panel, and the monitor is mounted on a stand that provides tilt, swivel, and height adjustments. The stand lights up at the bottom to compliment the grey and bronze color scheme Asus used, but that LED light can be disabled.
The styling and added features of the PG348Q aim it squarely at gamers, though power users of all kinds will appreciate the overall quality and performance. NVIDIA G-Sync is supported, which combats screen tearing by matching the monitor's refresh rate to the number of frames per second the video card is actually able to push out - and while the panel is manufactured for 60Hz operation Asus has overclocked it to support up to 100Hz for extremely smooth display of high-motion 3D scenes.
Because 3440x1440 resolution is made up of a lot of pixels, though not quite as many as 4K, it requires a high bandwidth video connection in order to run at its full capabilities. HDMI can provide that resolution at 50Hz refresh rate, but to use the 100Hz mode or G-Sync a DisplayPort connection is required.

This monitor is a beast - huge, packed with features, and with a price tag to match. I picked one up as soon as we started carrying it, as I wanted some extra horizontal space when I work (I'm spoiled at the office by dual 27" monitors) and love having G-Sync support for gaming. The curve of the screen is very subtle, less than I had expected, but just right to keep the far edges of the screen from seeming warped. Overall I really like this monitor! Once nice thing is that when you get to screens of this caliber all the necessary cables for using this monitor are bundled with it. Both HDMI and DisplayPort cables are included, as well as a power adapter and USB 3.0 cable. That last one is to enable the 4-port USB 3.0 hub built into the back of the monitor, but because of its location it wouldn't really be convenient to access regularly.

Included Cables:
Power cord
Power adapter
DisplayPort cable
USB 3.0 cable
HDMI cable
Refresh Rate:
DisplayPort: 3440x1440 (up to 100Hz)
