Our Mission
We believe that computers should be a pleasure to purchase and own. They should get your work done and not be a hindrance.
Puget Systems blends the roles of system integrator, consultant, and workflow expert to provide our customers with tailor-made workstations and servers built to handle demanding workloads. Our process starts with a focus on client needs, rather than what we have on the shelf. In fact, there are no pre-built systems on the shelf! Instead, we are a trusted partner who will listen to each unique situation and customize solutions to customer pain points. Those include desktop, rackmount, and mobile workstations, servers, and storage systems with a wide range of available hardware components.
We operate across a wide range of industries, with particular specialties in Media & Entertainment, AI & Machine Learning, and Engineering. No matter what your workflow is, though, we can help! Our Puget Labs team researches and tests application performance, while our experienced consultants draw on those results, additional information from our partners, and their own knowledge base to advise each client on the hardware that will best meet their needs. From there, our production team hand-crafts every system to rigorous standards and tests for stability before our shipping department carefully packages them for delivery. Our support staff is then available to help with any hardware difficulties for the life of the computer, including any repairs that may be necessary.
Our Values
Our mission statement for many years has been “We believe that computers should be a pleasure to purchase and own. They should get your work done and not be a hindrance.” That focus on helping customers get their work done has driven many of our efforts around testing specific applications and workflows and then customizing solutions that are built specifically to deliver the best performance and value for those use cases. When you talk to our sales team, this is what they will hone in on: what will you be using the computer for, and then what is the best system we can build for that purpose within your budget.
While this started with desktop workstations for content creation and engineering, it has grown over time. We now offer solutions ranging from mobile and tower workstations to rack-mounted servers and software-defined storage systems. Unlike commodity OEMs, who focus on mass-market and general-purpose computers, we work closely with each customer to design innovative configurations that are highly specific to their needs. We utilize the latest technologies and components and are able to fulfill purchases from individual units up to large quantity orders. Many of our systems can be upgraded or expanded as customer needs evolve – providing long-term value and reducing the need for frequent replacements, which leads to higher efficiency and productivity for end-users.
Our systems are well known for their reliability, ensuring mission-critical operations run smoothly. Alongside tailoring solutions to meet application performance needs, we prioritize security and compliance with federal standards to safeguard sensitive data. With our exceptional lifetime support and service guarantee, you can rest assured that you have expert assistance available via phone and email for the life of each computer. Furthermore, our warranties can be tailored to specific enterprise and government agency needs, such as hardware replacement without needing to return failed components.
Many other factors set Puget Systems apart as well. We are 100% US-based, with no foreign ownership, control, or influence. The company is privately owned, operates entirely from within the US, and all employees are US citizens. We assemble all of our products in our Auburn, WA facility – avoiding the risk of foreign or malicious tampering. We have a proven track record of delivering quality and reliability since 2000, and a strong history of successful projects and satisfied customers which demonstrates our capability to meet demands and deliver on our promises.
Customers choose Puget Systems for our commitment to customization, quality, and personalized service. We would be honored to serve you.
Our People
Puget Systems could not be the company it is today without the employees – past and present – who have made it all possible. Everyone matters, from our founder and president to the newest hire. We regularly seek out motivated and talented people to join our growing business.
We strive to make Puget Systems as great a place to work as it is to purchase from, and we’ve been featured as one of the best mid-size places to work in Washington. That focus on employee satisfaction has led to a great ranking on Glassdoor, lots of opportunities for internal advancement, and a low turnover rate.
As you work with us, you will likely encounter folks from multiple teams:
Our leadership team is helmed by Jon Bach, our company founder and president. He has gathered a great team around him to help steer Puget Systems into the future and take care of our employees. He also works closely with our technology team to ensure that our website, internal tools, and infrastructure meet our growing needs.
Our R&D team works closely with hardware manufacturers, testing their components to determine suitability for the various systems we build and making sure that we are using the most reliable parts with the features that our customers need. They also provide feedback to OEMs and work with them to guide future hardware designs.
Our marketing team is responsible for our website content, social media presence, trade show attendance, and partnerships with hardware manufacturers and influencers to help reach our audience. Puget Labs is a huge part of that: benchmarking components, publishing performance articles, and lending their expertise to craft our Recommended Systems and aid our sales consultants.
Our experienced sales consultants work with each individual customer to make sure they get the right system for their unique workflow and budget. We also have dedicated account managers for larger businesses, educational institutions, and government organizations to help build long-term relationships and craft custom solutions to enterprise-class technology needs.
Our tech support team is here to help you with any hardware-related problems that crop up on Puget Systems computers. We don’t outsource to a call center, but instead maintain a highly-trained team of customer service and support specialists here on-site. They are available via phone and email, and in the event that your computer needs repair work we have dedicated techs to get your system back up and running as fast as possible.
Ensuring that we have all of the parts needed for building systems – whether laptops, workstations, or servers – is a huge challenge, but one that our supply chain team is more than capable of meeting. They work closely with manufacturers and distributors to forecast our needs, purchase components, manage warehouse inventory, assign parts out for assembly, and more.
The rubber meets the road when our assembly techs actually build your system, crafting each one with care and precision. Then our integration team installs the operating system and stress-tests the core components to make sure that performance is in line with expectations and ensure stability under load. Quality control is crucial to our workflow and is maintained every step of the way.

Our Story
Puget Systems was home-grown in the Pacific Northwest and currently operates out of the Seattle suburb of Auburn.
Puget Sound Systems was founded by Jon Bach in December of 2000. In 2003, we officially changed our name to Puget Systems because people unfamiliar with the company and the area were confused about whether we sold computers or audio equipment! Originally run from Jon’s home, the business grew quickly. Over our first eight years, the company outgrew its location again and again. Each time, we moved to a larger and more ideal location.
In January of 2009, we purchased an industrial warehouse in Auburn, WA. This new facility effectively doubled our usable space. By designing the building interior from the ground up, we have been able to significantly improve the efficiency of our build process and the thoroughness of our testing.
This shared warehouse and office environment gives us nearly 14,000 square feet to work in, but even that has not been able to fully accommodate our growth in recent years. While inventory, production, and repair remain entirely on-site, our sales consultants, tech support, and marketing teams now rotate between time in the office and working from home.
This selection of videos about Puget Systems shows our growth over the years to better serve our customers and just how far we have come:
Recently we have branched out from desktop workstations – bringing our approach and expertise to laptops, servers, and storage solutions as well.
In 2020, we looked back at twenty years of our company’s history and growth – celebrating our success and looking forward to the future!
In the late 2010s, we shifted our focus more toward high-performance workstations for professional content creators, engineers, and scientists.
For many years, we have focused on getting to know our customers and their needs – and then putting together the right solution, not cookie-cutter PCs.
We went viral back in 2007 for submerging a PC in mineral oil, which is how many people in the following years said they first found out about us.
In 2005, Microsoft recorded a case study on Puget Systems, which they used at an internal function. It was a long time ago…we all look a lot younger!
Why Choose Puget Systems?
- We have an unwavering commitment to a high-quality product line. This has become even more important in recent years, as more and more low-quality items are hitting the market. The industry is being flooded with hyped products that do not perform as they should, and fierce competition is making it more important to be early to market than to put in proper development time. Through this chaotic process, the end user needs a skilled advocate to help identify true quality. Puget Systems is committed to being this advocate as one of our core values. We have the experience to know when to be suspicious, and we have the resources to test products for ourselves. If a product stands up to our expectations, we still continue to evaluate it over time. We have the volume to be able to use statistical data to identify reliability trends over time, but we’re also small enough to be very responsive to what we find. If a product does not cut it, we don’t sell it. We want to make sure that you, as a buyer, are comfortable choosing from any of our options – knowing that if we sell it, we stand behind it. It is worth noting that this is not always easy. There are some very motivated manufacturers that do not share these values, who can mount considerable pressure. The answers aren’t always black and white, and things like marketing funds, kickbacks, deep discounts, and shared advertising can make decisions very complicated. We know this is why some of our competitors are selling parts we would not.
- We are constantly self-improving. Just as important to product line selection, is what we do with those products. We have carefully crafted each of our processes to generate self-feedback. Every support ticket opened, every RMA item, and every repaired computer is brought to the attention of all departments further up the line. We hold weekly feedback meetings, where every issue that needs it is discussed. It is very important to us that we not only set up firm feedback cycles but that we establish clear lines of accountability. In our eyes, this is the best path to constant improvement. It has been amazing to see this in action. As time goes on, we solve problem after problem, making sure they do not have the possibility to happen again. And as each problem is solved, we can turn our attention to smaller problems. The cycle is neverending.
- We are available to you. We are proud of our transparency. Some of our competitors use tactics of providing as little detail about themselves as possible, to appear larger or more credible than they are. At Puget Systems, we are confident in ourselves and our abilities, and view it as a strength to share as much information about ourselves as we can. You can view our staff biographies by clicking on the pictures above, read our blog, or just give us a call! It has never made sense to us to hold anything back – because PEOPLE are where the strength of any company comes from. This spirit of transparency carries over to all aspects of our business. This information helps you make more informed decisions, and it only strengthens us as well. We’re excited to form a community with our customers.
- We have a proven track record. Talk is worth little unless you have proof. There are numerous resources you can use to make sure we are who we say we are. Start with our customer testimonials. You can also read our reviews on Reseller Ratings or our case studies. Or just Google our name… we’re confident in what you’ll find!
